Who we are
This is a space for social workers, change-makers, and people in the helping and human professions to come together safely and discuss our work. It is a place for critical reflection and practice improvement. It is a place, where for a moment; the world is removed from our shoulders.
And who am I?
I’m Sian. It makes my soul sing to work with practitioners to support practice and practitioner well-being. This job is hard! Being in the human service profession takes resilience. I know. I’ve been in front-line social work practice in Australia and Scotland for over 8 years, working in statutory child protection with local government and briefly in criminal justice in the not-for-profit sector. I have a Masters of Social Work (Qualifying), which followed my Bachelor of Arts, where I double majored in Psychology and History. I’d describe myself as a bit of a nerd when it comes to learning and development because I continued with a Graduate Certificate in Practice Education and a Graduate Certificate in Child Welfare and Protection. But that’s enough about me, what I enjoy doing is getting to know you. Your stories, your experiences and the fantastic work you’re doing out there in the world.
